My New Stream Of Income Is Selling Hats On Etsy

I am a firm believer that if you are working online, or in the process of working online FOR YOURSELF, to become financially independent, you have to…HAVE TO…have multiple streams of income.

Now, for many of us on Medium, writing is the desired way of earning money online.

And heck, I get it.

Writing is a great way to earn money, especially if you have a passion for it (Mila).

However, as many of us have noticed, writing earnings can fluctuate, and the amount you earn each month can drastically change from month to month (assuming you aren’t collecting emails).

If you rely on the ad revenue from platforms such as Medium, Vocal, or maybe even your blog, you may not see the desired earnings you would like in order to quit your job.

A great supplement to your writings is, without a doubt, 👉 “affiliate marketing.”

Of course, on a platform like Medium, you will want to promote affiliate offers sparingly.

However, and I know I keep beating this horse to death, if you have your OWN EMAIL LIST, promotion is whenever YOU FEEL LIKE DOING IT, without any repercussion.

Listen, if you are a writer, you have to…HAVE TO…collect emails.

Consider this.

Emails are to writers/bloggers, what subscribers are to YouTubers.

I hope this analogy sinks in.

This is one reason why Medium collects emails on your behalf and allows you to DOWNLOAD those emails.

Emails are SO IMPORTANT; I cannot stress this enough!

If you are not collecting emails, then you need to start, like yesterday.

With this said, another great way to earn money online is with the platform called Etsy.

As to date, I have earned $49.60 on the platform, and I just opened up my store two weeks ago!

Not bad, if I do say so myself.

In this article, you will learn what Etsy is, why it’s a successful business model, and how to use it to sell your products.

Etsy is an online marketplace for handmade or vintage items and supplies.

Sellers can make money by either charging a commission or a flat fee for the item.

Now, you can sell more than just handmade items on Etsy.

You can sell digital products or even do a form of dropshipping on Etsy.

At the current moment, I am doing the latter.

I am selling hats and apparel.

The great thing about this is that I don’t have to ship or create the products from my home, nor do I have to worry about getting the equipment for the hats and apparel.

All I do is CREATE THE DESIGN, upload it on Printful, and connect my Pintful account to Etsy.

I do a bit of SEO on Esty and VOILA…I earn money.

I know I sped through this whole process, so allow me to slow it down and explain step by step how I am earning money and COLLECTING EMAILS (yes, I am going to keep stressing this, you have no idea of the power of emails) to make more money online.

Step 1: Create Design On Canva

Yahoo Free To Share Images

The first thing that I do, and if you decide to try this new income avenue, is to use/create my/an Canva account.

Canva is a GREAT platform where you can get images and designs for your articles and other digital mediums (Youtube Channel art, thumbnails, videos, etc.)

Canva has two versions.

There is the FREE version, and there is the paid version.

If you decide to use this software, I highly recommend buying the paid version because it offers you so much.

And Canva is only $12.95 a month, it isn’t that bad, as you get A LOT in return.

Now, I create hats, and I use different fonts and place them on the hats I am creating and selling on Etsy.

Canva has hundreds, if not thousands, of fonts.

This is easily one way to start finding out what design best works for you and your brand.

It’s easy, effective, and it is earning me MONEY right now.

Step 2: Create On Printful

Printful is a print-on-demand e-commerce store.

It is here where you upload your design on whatever canvas you would like.

Be that hats, shirts, bags, home living, bottles, etc.

Here you will pick which hat design you would like to place your design on.

Here you can pick the type of hat design you want and the colors that you would like to have for the hat.

Drop the design in the “Drop Your Design Here” tab, and voila, you have created your very own hat.

After you do this, you can make the price for the hat or product whatever you desire.

Of course, it should be reasonable.

Note: Printful will CHARGE YOU for any product made, so make sure you have enough money in your account to pay for creating the hat. Don’t let this be a deterrent, however, as there is a way around this, which I will explain.

Step 3: Create An Etsy Store and Connect Your Printful Account To Your Etsy Store

Yahoo Free To Share

The last thing you will need to do is create an Etsy account, and this is where the MAGIC (💰) begins.

Sign in/Sign up and create your Etsy account and then create your Etsy Store.

Next, you will want to scroll down and click on the “Sell On Etsy.”

Click “Get Started”

Fill out ALL the information

After that head back to Printful and connect your Printful Account to your new Etsy Store, and Voila!

You will find this page on the “Stores” tab.

Quick Note

Now you will see this red warning sign when you click the publish button. Do not let this disconcert you; just click the publish button again, and it will accept it.

I am not sure why Etsy hasn’t fixed this yet, but this has been going on for a long time.

So, if you see this, don’t freak out; click the publish button again, and you should be good.

Create an Esty account 👉 here (This is NOT an affiliate link.)

Note: You can download the emails and sell to past buyers in the future. I know…I know…I am like a broken record; YOU HAVE TO COLLECT EMAILS. Sign up with my affiliate link to 👉 Getresponse (This IS an affiliate link) and get your first month for FREE.

So How Do I Not Pay The Fee For Creating Stuff On Printful?

Etsy allows you to cash out on sales every day. However, you must earn more than $25 in sales for them to do this.
